Annual Events


1st Year Mass

As a Catholic School liturgical services are an integral part of the education of our students. With this in mind a First Year Mass is held in October each year. Parents and Guardians are invited to attend this special event to mark their child's new journey through secondary school.


School Stars

School Stars takes place each year around November and is well supported by students who have an opportunity to showcase their talents. The winners have gone on to represent the College in both Leinster and All-Ireland competitions.


Céilí Mór

Still going strong after almost 40 years, the Céilí Mór is a great hit amongst the students. Tickets are always in great demand and the Céilí takes place around December 7th each year.


Awards Night

The annual Awards Night was re-established in 2005 and has become an important date on the College calendar since then. Each year a former student has been invited to the Ceremony as Guest of Honour. To date Guests of Honour have been Mr. Dermot Ahern, T.D. Minister for Justice / Foreign Affairs, Mr. Peter Malone, Chairman, National Roads Authority, Mr. Frank Lynch, Businessman, Mr. Pearse Lyons, President of Alltech Corporation USA , Mr. James McGuill, Solicitor and Former President of the Law Society and Mr. Brian Donnelly, Senior Lecturer, English Department, University College Dublin.


Students are presented with a number of Awards, trophies and prizes which recognise their excellence in the academic, sporting and other areas.


Seachtain na Gaeilge

Seachtain na Gaeilge provides an opportunity to showcase the Irish language and culture and many events take place in and around the College to celebrate this week in March each year.

Annual Mass for Marist First Year Students

Sports Day

Marist Sports Day is a day of sporting fun organised by the PE Department. There is a huge number of events to suit all sporting interests, including novelty events like Inter-class Tug-o-War, Puc Fada, target golf. Events run throughout the day with Medal Presentation Ceremonies taking place at the podium at regular intervals.

School Tours, Trip, Excursions

A wide range of school tours, trips and excursions take place each year.

Students have the opportunity to travel to various University Open Days, plays, cinema and to other venues which enhance thier classroom learning.


Language Exchange Programmes

The College has 2 Language exchange programmes with a Marist school in both France and Germany.

Prize Giving Ceremonies

Each Year in May, Prize Giving Ceremonies are held for each year group. Academic Awards, Leadership Awards, Social Awareness Awards and Sporting Awards are presented to students.


Graduation Mass

Held in May each year the Graduation Mass is a special event for the 6th year students as they prepare for their Leaving Certificate.
