Students at St. Mary’s College are actively encouraged to take part in science competitions and activities. We have had notable success in competitions such as The Science Olympiad and Young Scientist competitions and are continually to the forefront of new innovations and technology. Students from the College have won prestigious Naughton Scholarship awards which promote the study of engineering, science and technology at third level.

Students regularly take part in Maths competitions and activities such as the National Mathematics Contest, the Mathematical Olympiad and Mathletes. We actively encourage students to extend their mathematical knowledge and experience and encourage critical thinking. Students are also given the opportunity to contribute to STEM based projects through their work.
